Richmond was able to reduce their turnovers in the second half to mount a comeback and eventually win the game by 6 points.
Lumberton's Jensine Alvarez and Jalisa Baxely combined to block a total of 9 Richmond shots. One of Baxely's blocks of a Richmond shot in the second half was so overwhelming that it created an unusually loud "hand-against-ball" sound that delighted the Lumberton fans.
A painful leg injury to Simone Floyd in the second half caused concern for the Lumberton team, but she was eventually able to return to the game.
Lumberton's Jenae Parker finished the game with 10 points and 7 steals. Simone Floyd was the team's second leading scorer with 9 points. Jensine Alvarez scored 8 points and finished with 5 rebounds, 5 blocked shots, and 3 steals. Jalisa Baxely scored 5 points, with 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Other scorers for Lumberton were Sofia Ghaffer with 4 points, Crystal Oxendine with 3 points, and Leandra Oxendine with 2 points.
