Lumberton football pounds Cape Fear 33-6
Both offense and defense shine in lopsided Pirates victory
Lumberton faces E.E. Smith in big road game next Friday

After building up a 20-6 halftime lead, the Lumberton Pirates football team went on to defeat Cape Fear 33-6 in a game played Friday night on a wet field with intermittent rain.
Lumberton knocked out Cape Fear with several big running plays, including Stargell Love's 42-yard touchdown run, William Blanks' 47-yard TD run, and Craig Stephens' 50-yard rush for a touchdown. In addition, quarterback Dionte Rogers teamed up with receiver Michael Breland on a 25-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter to give Lumberton a 20-6 lead at halftime.
