Election Results Unclear in Precinct 7
Recount likely since Maynor has only "one vote lead" over Sampson
Meeting on Tuesday will hear Maynor complaint of "vote-buying"
Tuesday's meeting of the Election Board is likely to be very interesting, if not also controversial. The results of the precinct 7 city council election remain in doubt with Leon Maynor and Laura Sampson currently separated by only one vote.
The board is likely to call for a recount in the precinct 7 council race. However, it needs to also evaluate Maynor's complaint that the election was tainted by vote-buying activities.
Dock Locklear, Director of the Robeson County Board of Elections, told Lumberton Times that he can't predict what will happen or what the board will decide at Tuesday's meeting.
